SUPERVISORY MEDICAL SUPPORT ASST

Major Duties Include but are not limited to:
Assigning and evaluating the work of subordinate staff Resolving complex issues to ensure patient services are met Evaluating new products, equipment, and systems to make recommendations for improved operations Identifying educational or training needs for subordinate staff Making final decisions on selections Evaluating performance and taking disciplinary action when necessary Responsible for extracting and analyzing data to provide reports in support of performance measures to senior management. Directs and coordinates the activities of administrative staff assigned to the clinic areas and integrating workloads and assignments to fully utilize all available resources. Supervise a team of employees performing work at the GS 3-7 levels, providing guidance and technical direction necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit or team. Work Schedule:

Medical Support Assistants must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Policy.
Experience:
Six months experience of clerical, office or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position; OR Education:
One year above high school (Official Transcripts Required); OR Experience/Education Combination:
Equivalent combination of experience and education are qualifying for entry level for both education and experience are acceptable. Official Transcripts Required Grade Determinations:
Experience:
At least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level. Examples of experience could include, but are not limited to:
Distributes and balances workloads Provides input on performance Resolves daily workplace issues Maintains an efficient workflow Assures coverage of all areas Conducts ongoing reviews to ensure quality of work is met. Ensures accurate and timely scheduling of appointments. Provides guidance to staff to include changes in policies and procedures. Creates and maintains employee work schedules Orients and provides on-the-job training Ensures all training requirements are met Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates must demonstrate all the KSAs below:
Ability to provide the full range of administrative and supervisory duties which includes assignment of work, performance evaluations, selection of staff, and recommendation of awards and/or advancements. Ability to collaborate, communicate, and demonstrate customer service and interpersonal skills with all healthcare professionals to ensure quality/continuity of care and ensure compliance with established policies and regulations. Ability to provide briefings, orientations, staff development and training. Ability to manage fiscal matters, forecast resource and equipment needs, and identify budget needs. References:

Work is primarily sedentary with some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items required. There are no unusual physical demands required to perform the duties of the position.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
