Major Duties:
Working with personal computer applications as well as numerous VistA applications. Will index each scanned document into a SQL database which will be access via Computerized Patient Records System, TIU tools, associate each scanned document with the correct patient's record, the appropriate TIU document, assign the appropriate document-named nomenclature, and electronically sign. Incumbents will review and research numerous and voluminous medical reports from non-VA health care facilities making a determination as to which documents are to be scanned, and when necessary, obtain guidance from providers and/or MRR Committee's guidelines. When records and reports are received, the incumbent will ensure that all necessary health/administrative information is integrated into VistA through PC scanning software. General
Experience:
You must have at least one (1) full year of general experience, which equips you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the File Clerk, GS-04 position, such as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR Substitution of Education for Experience (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED):
Do you possess two (2) years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite? This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. Experience:
Have a combination of post-high school education and general experience that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. To qualify by a combination, the total qualifying experience will be calculated as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; and the education will be calculated as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. These two percentages will be added, and the total percentages must equal at least 100%. NOTE:

The work is mostly sedentary; however, some bending, stretching, walking, and lifting are required. This position requires standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, and sitting in performing tasks in the file area, work areas, and throughout the medical center. Bulk or packaged records will require lifting up to 40 pounds. Due to the stressful and high-pressured nature of the activities in the fileroom, alertness and agility is necessary. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
