Supervise activities and performance of employees to ensure work accomplished were efficient, timely, and met prescribed environmental directives and standards set by the facility, VISN 19 and national guidelines. Communicate with employees constructively with assigned duties and responsibilities. Adjusts schedule to accommodate personnel shortages and unexpected emergency workloads. Conducts in-depth inspection of all areas assigned and correct deficiencies on-the- spot or within specified times limits. Recommends and/or initiates appropriate disciplinary actions when the need exists. Counsels employee(s) when pattern or triggers exists i.e Unsatisfactory performance, absenteeism, abuse of sick leave and tardiness. Communicate effective with internal and external customer. Ability to correctly and safely operate variety of heavy power equipment. Conduct test of new products and equipment prior to purchase. Work Schedule:

Experience:
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT:
Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. The potential eligibles are then rated against the remainder of the Job Elements:
Understands EMS organization and business. Builds trust relationship in order to provides services that meet the Veterans and their family's needs. Knowledge and demonstration of importance of medical housekeeping processes and standards around patient/non-patient areas. Describe working knowledge and proper use of PPEs, housekeeping chemicals, SDS locations, and all assigned equipment manuals. Communicates regularly with Chief EMS to ensure significant matter are communicated on a timely basis through oral and written reports. Verbalize and demonstrate proper donning and doffing/cleaning techniques for cleaning patient's room that has had MRSA and C-diff contamination. Ability to discipline, encourage and facilitate cooperation, pride, trust, foster commitment and team spirit in order to achieve goals. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note:
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The position requires performance of work which involves light physical effort, such as that involved in using vacuum cleaners and dry mops; continually standing, bending, stooping and reaching; frequently lifting and emptying waste baskets; frequently pushing carts loaded with waste; and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Also performs work which involves moderate to heavy physical effort, such as required to move heavy equipment and furniture, i.e., heavy industrial vacuum cleaners, heavy duty floor scrubbers and buffers, couches, beds, etc., and lifting, carrying and/or moving items weighing up to 40-50 pounds. Usually works indoors in areas which normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Will be exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions used in stripping floors, etc., as well as subject to cuts and bruises. Continually exposed to dust, dirt, and disagreeable odors, and is frequently exposed to organic material which may be contaminated and/or infectious and require special handling.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
