Resources Program Advisor

Travel and relocation expenses will be paid consistent with the Federal Travel Regulation, Chapter 302, and Departmental policy. Selectee will be responsible for tax obligations related to payments for moving expenses - 2017 Tax Cuts and Job Act, Public Law 115-97. In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the qualification requirements - please be sure to include this information in your resume. You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples:
Experience providing leadership and guidance to management officials on resource improvements and restoration of natural resources (i.e. National Monuments, National Conservation Areas and similar designations, Wilderness Areas, Wilderness Study Areas, National Wild and Scenic Rivers, and National Scenic and Historic Trails); experience evaluating and assessing program accomplishments, and providing results; processes environmental functions related to multiple use land planning; experience producing written materials and communicating orally with various audiences (i.e. BLM management officials, private individuals, employee groups, non-government organizations, federal organizations, members of Congress, and other BLM customers and clients). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of Education:
There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-14 grade level. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level. Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test is received. Physical Demands:
The work involves office activities, largely of a sedentary nature. Travel is required in connection with various work assignments. The incumbent often works under very tight deadlines involving projects of Directorate-wide significance. Work Environment:
Most of the work of this position is performed in an office setting where risks, generally associated with an office environment are present. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
