The St. Mary's Regional Blood Center is a hospital-based program that collects over 14,000 units per year. Blood from St. Mary's Regional Blood Center helps St. Mary's trauma, surgical, and cancer patients as well as providing the blood needed at most of the region's smaller hospitals in western Colorado and eastern Utah.
A not-for-profit organization, St. Mary's Hospital was founded in 1896 by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. Today, St. Mary's Hospital is the largest medical center between Denver and Salt Lake City, and boasts over 350 beds, approximately 2,000 staff and 300 active physicians.

Position Summary
The position is responsible for the day-to-day activities in the Blood center and oversight of Med Techs. This includes regulatory and legal compliance, responsibility for maintaining the blood center operations to all cGMP, FDA, CAP, AABB and state regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring as needed to maintain compliance with SOP, state, federal and regulatory agency accreditation requirements.
Manage and maintain the Blood Center Information Technology systems to all regulatory requirements, assuring operation, validation & standardization of systems is in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Optimization of Information Technology is used for operation of the department.
Assists with development/revision of standards, policies, procedures of cGMP to meet regulatory requirements and assure compliance.
Provides and assists with education and competency assessment of associates to meet all regulatory requirements and cGMP.
Oversees the medical technologists processing and distributing blood and components to regional hospitals.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related health field with MT (ASCP) required
Two or more years of greater related business or health management experience.
BB or SBB certifications preferred.
