Culinary Director Primary Role:
The Culinary Service Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Culinary Lead with meal preparation, serving meals, and cleaning the kitchen and dining areas at HomewardBound of the Grand Valley shelter.
Collaborates closely with Culinary Director Culinary Lead Guest Relations Coordinator Key
Responsibilities:
Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing meats, and cooking meals Serve meals to shelter residents and clean up after meals Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including washing dishes, wiping counters, and sweeping and mopping floors Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and rotating food items Work collaboratively with other shelter staff to ensure efficient and effective operations Attend staff meetings and trainings as required Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Director.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in food service or kitchen work preferred Strong understanding of food safety regulations and guidelines Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed Must exhibit the values of (HBGV) and serve as a paradigm of positivity and encouragement for Culinary staff at all times Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
The position may require bending, stooping, and reaching.
