Brad Cummins Job Description Role and Responsibilities General Laborer performs various tasks as assigned by the general contractor.
These tasks may include but aren't limited to cleaning and preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, using a variety of tools, setting up temporary structures and helping as needed with carpenters, masons and other contractors.
Prepare job sites, materials and tools as instructed Unloading and loading of materials, tools, and equipment Removing debris, garbage, and dangerous materials from sites.
Assisting with transport and operation of heavy machinery and equipment.
Assembling and breaking down temporary structures and scaffolding Digging holes, tunnels and ditches as needed Regulating traffic and erecting traffic signs may be necessary Qualifications and Education Requirements Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices High school diploma in an asset Preferred Skills Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the construction field Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc.
Comfortable with heights and working above ground Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
as needed, potential to lift objects greater than 75 lbs.
Must be healthy, strong and fit.
Able to bend, stoop, twist and/or stand for up to 10 hrs.
