How you will contribute:
As a general ledger accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement for local applicants or full remote work arrangement for all other candidates.
Responsibilities will include:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation.
Conduct account analysis and reconciliations.
Process and monitor fixed asset transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices.
Work directly with the clients via meetings, telephone, text, and email.
Attend and participate in internal meetings and complete required training.
Provide support for the department as needed.

The Must Haves:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Solid experience in QuickBooks.
Strong knowledge of accepted accounting principles.
Experience preparing sales tax returns and various forms 1099.
Assets:

Experience working in a virtual or hybrid environment.
