Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Registered Medical Assistant (AMT) or equivalent required.
2 years of related experience (preferred).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current RMA Medical Assistant Certification (AMT) or equivalent BLS Certification ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Screens calls and schedules appointments as ordered by medical professionals.
Performs laboratory testing; plants cultures.
Performs routine tests as ordered by medical professionals Performs some specialized tests.
Provides patient care to assigned patients in the clinic per hospital standards and procedures.
Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
Operates routine medical office equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
Gives injections or treatments to patients under provider order Performs routine laboratory tests, understands and adheres to all CLIA requirements Contacts patients, as requested or required, to report test results.
Assists provider with assigned patients in the clinic per hospital standards and procedures.
Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
Cleans and prepares instruments for autoclave.
Completes administrative functions as requested.
Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
Maintains, tracks and records information regarding lab tests, pharmacy items, etc.
as required.
Maintains and performs quality controls on equipment as needed.
Charting requirements including health history, immunizations, allergies, drug samples, family history, social history, etc.
Obtains Advance Beneficiary Notices as required.
